2007
Corra’s superb 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon’s opaque blue/purple color is followed by subtle aromas of charcoal, white chocolate, blackberries, black currants, and background oak. Deep and full-bodied with impressive texture and purity, this 2007 is accessible now, but promises to evolve for 20+ years.

2006
"Bright ruby-red. Blueberry, cassis, bitter chocolate, licorice and menthol on the nose. Supple and lush on the palate, with captivating cassis, mineral and melted chocolate flavors; showed a strong graphite quality with air. This boasts a compellingly creamy texture and finishes with substantial sweet tannins. A very nicely balanced 2006, built to age but already offering considerable appeal. This is consulting winemaker Celia Welch's own project, made from vines on Pritchard Hill as well as in Rutherford and Oakville." (91 points) Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar (May/June '09)
Knowing Celia’s record, after I wrote the first review on the 2004 premiere release of Corra, (DW 97), I was not surprised how excellent the wine was. Since then, many devoted Cabernet fans have jumped on her mailing list and it sells out within a week. I tasted this wine with Celia in Pasadena at the same time as the 2006 Scarecrow, and found the Corra was a bit more evolved at that point. Aroma: dense, dark black fruits, cherry and crisp raspberry, graphite and dark chocolate. Palate: lush, creamy and full-bodied entry, with excellent balance throughout, finishing with delicate black raspberry, cranberry and currant. Impression: another stunner. Beautiful if you want to enjoy now for its elegance, will continue to gain weight for years to come. (97 points) Doug Wilder, Wilder Napa Valley
A mix of ripe, sweetish plum, currant and black cherry fruit framed by cedary oak, mineral and firm tannins, this is rich, complex and concentrated, well-proportioned and full-bodied, ending with nice structure and length. (91 points) James Laube, Wine Spectator
2005
The superb, dense ruby/purple-colored, full-bodied 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (a 220-case lot of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon) reveals elegant notes of spring flowers, lead pencil shavings, blueberries, black currants, and a subtle hint of smoke. Noble sweet tannins are noticeable, and the wine displays a restrained use of oak (100% new French barrels were utilized), beautiful purity, a multi-dimensional texture, and a savory, long, classic finish. It should age effortlessly for 15+ years. (94 points) Robert Parker, the Wine Advocate
Smooth, rich and polished, with layers of green and black olive, spice, currant, cedar and mineral flavors that are complex and deep while retaining an elegant mouthfeel. Ends with supple, graceful tannins that glide on the finish. (93 points) James Laube, Wine Spectator
2004
The 2004 Corra Cabernet Sauvignon is very dark in color, showing aromas of black cherry, cedar, blackberry, mocha, blue plum followed by smoke-kissed currant, brilliant blueberry and chocolate brownie. The palate is intensely focused black currant, plum and blackberry tart. It shows a beautifully interwoven dexterity of flavors. Quite simply, this is a masterpiece. (97 points) Vinfolio
This wine exhibits a rich, creamy-textured mix of currant, herb, mineral, sage and cedary tobacco notes, keeping a tight focus and ending with a long, layered finish and firm, ripe tannins. Supple, graceful and polished, it exhibits layers of dried currant, herb and green olive and loamy earth, with fine-grained tannins. (91 points) James Laube, Wine Spectator
